Tip of the Week: Grab Better Screens & Images

Making screen grabs and pulling down images from the web just got a lot easier with the Firefox Add-on called Pixlr grabber. It allows you to Edit, Share, Save or Copy your final grabs with a lot more flexibility than the Windows Print Screen option!

Headwhack of the Week: Why Some Laptops Go Slow, Low!

If you notice your laptop or netbook gets really slow sometimes, especially when the battery gets low, there is likely a reason! Most portable computers are designed to 'kick down' the processor speed in an effort to preserve and extend battery life. Whenever you notice that the battery is below 25%, you will likely get a pickup in performance if you can plug it into an A/C source (and a reboot wouldn't hurt either!)

Geek Speak of the Week: Protohype

The process of leaking a prototype device to generate buzz about a product that isn't quite ready to go to market yet.

Security: Personal Texting on a Work Phone? Beware your Boss.

If you use a work cell phone for both business and personal use, and send personal text messages with it, beware that your boss may know exactly what you are saying, when you are saying it and to whom!

Facebook announced some changes on Wednesday that are intended to make the Internet more social. Essentially, Facebook is stretching out into the rest of the Web.

But what do these new features actually mean for everyday people who use the Internet?

Here's a quick guide , based on a comments by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's founder and CEO, and interviews with developers who create applications for the massively popular social-networking site.

News: The next Computer Mouse: Your Skin

In an ideal world, mobile phones would be the size of matchbooks. They'd have full-size keyboards. They'd browse the Web. They'd play videos. And, most importantly, you'd never have to touch them. Sound like too much to ask? Maybe not.

Weekly Advice Column: Facebook for the Deceased

One of the unintended benefits of having a Facebook page is that when one passes on, a very detailed and wonderful memorial to that person will remain.

Not only are there all the memories from the person that has passed, but all of the thoughts and comments from the friends of the deceased also remain for others to share.

Facebook created a process that allows family members to notify them that the user has passed away and to convert the profile into a 'memorial' page.

Find out how notify Facebook of a deceased person's profile.
