Poll of the Week:  If you had to give up one hi-tech device for life, which one would it be?

Tip of the Week: Dress up your pics

RoundPic.com is exactly what the name suggests: an image editing site where simple, square photos can be uploaded and smoothed out to create sleek, rounded corners.  The service is almost too easy. You simply upload your picture or enter the URL of the image, and click "Round It!" You can then save your new pic or customize it further by changing the size, background color, and how round the corners are. Once it's complete, just click download and you're good to go!

Headwhack of the Week: Record problems in Windows 7

Nothing is more frustrating (for helpers and helpees) than trying to explain a technical snafu on your computer in all of it's complexity.

Wouldn't it be great if you could record exactly what you are doing to show whomever it is that is trying to help you?

If you have Windows 7 you can do just that with the built in Problem Steps Recorder!

Geek Speak of the Week: Backscatter

Backscatter is the flood of messages received when an email address is forged as the sender on spam messages. Essentially, someone is spoofing the Reply-To field in an email. They then send it to a mail server and it bounces not back to the sending server but to the Reply-To address. Thus you may receive hundreds of spam messages this way.

Security: New worm hits Skype users

On the heels of a worm that was installing backdoors on Windows systems via Yahoo Instant Messenger comes a new Skype worm that is even more sophisticated in its social engineering and payload, security firm Bkis said on Friday.

News: Get Office 2010 at a rock-bottom price

If you're considering an Office 2010 upgrade, be sure you learn the lesson of Windows 7. Microsoft offers its best prices to early adopters. Those who wait pay more.

News: 15 future laptop concepts

What will laptops look like in five years? Ten? Predicting future tech trends is always tricky, but these notebook concepts from both PC makers and straight-up tech fans provide a few clues as to what could lie ahead.

Data Doctors Video: Could a virus attack your cell phone?

Phishing scams, malware, and viruses all could be coming to your smartphone, exposing you to fraud, identity theft, and eavesdropping.

Mobile App of the Week:
Clixtr

Every week we will feature a new mobile app for various smartphones that we discover as we go about our business.

This week's app is an iPhone/Web specific app that allows you to create shared photo albums on-the-go.  Think about a large group of folks at the same event posting all of the pictures to the same place and you get why we think Clixtr has some cool possibilities!

Weekly Advice Column: Pay attention to install programs

If you replace on old computer because it became overrun with programs and ran too slow but don't change your behavior, your new computer could be running just as slow if you don't heed this week's advice!
