What is better for G3, OS X2.2 or Panther?

Would it be better to upgrade my G3 to OS X 2.2 or invest in Panther? And are there free up grades to OS X 2.2?

This question was answered on January 30, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
Your Mac OS X2.2 is probably better then OS X panther. This is because Panther is intended for 64 bit computers. and since your G3 is not 64 bit it would still work but you would not have the full capabilities of the OS as you would if you had a 64 bit computer. So my recommendation to you is that you install OS X 2.2 for a much better usage speed and performance. As far as free upgrades I am not sure of but you could always check the Apple website.
