Zip drive

Question

I have been searching the net looking for a device that will allow me to connect an Iomega Zip drive to the router so that any computer on the LAN can access the drive in the same way a print server works. The Iomega is a USB device. I can make it work by connecting it to a computer and sharing it. I have a LAN that I am hooking up that is completely wireless and not all computers are on at all times. The only hardwired device is the printer and it hooks up to the router with a built in sever. So far I have not found anything that comes close.

I catch your radio show when ever possible. Good show. Also listen to Kim Komando. It is about 60 - 40 split on the information I get that I can use. You get the 60% she gets the 40%.

The thing you want to do is no possible, because the zip drive as its name â??ZIP DRIVEâ??, it need a processor to control the access to it, and it is like a floppy drive, or a cd drive, or a hard drive, you can not have it apart of a cp.

The printer in the contrary way could be install it as a print server, but a zip drive not.
