Does the device manager report a conflict or problem with the scanner?
Question
Tried several scanner installations w/3 different scanners, different manufactures, followed instructions to the "T" (disabled Antivirus, installed things in order, etc).
Each time error message says "Class installer denied request to install device". Can you please help? Thank you.

This question was answered on April 4, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
Try to reinstall the software of the scanner than reboot your computer and check CMOS if the scanner is recognized. If the scanner is not recognized by POST, clean the edge connectors. Use the same scanner in another computer to see if does work and also to find out if your computer is not compatible with the new scanner. Also make sure that you have enough hard drive space to install the scanner.
