Fax machines recalled by CPSC & Oki Data!

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) & Oki Data, recently announced a voluntary recall of several fax machines made by the company. Oki Data is recalling about 1,000 OKIFAX&#174 5780, 5980, 5980DL and Konica 9880 Facsimile machines. The fax machines may incur a mechanical malfunction causing a shock hazard to users. The recalled fax machines have serial numbers beginning with 3110A, 311A, 312A, 401A and 402A.

No incidents have been reported yet, however, the recall is being made in order to prevent the possibility of injury. These products were sold between October 2003 and February 2004 for $2,800 - $4,000.

Consumers with the recalled units are advised to stop using the product immediately, unplug the unit, and contact the company for a free repair.
