Why isn't Word and Excel on my pc?
Question
Hi - I just got a new computer, but as it was intended to be a network computer, rather than a PC, it had no modem. I hijacked the modem out of my 'old' computer, and now the old one won't load Windows XP, so I can't transfer my files! I didn't do anything else to it, why the problem?
Also, my old computer came with Windows XP, with Excel and Word for Windows. My new also has Windows XP, but not these 2 programs - any ideas why not?
I don't buy my computers from stores, which may be my problem: the old one was downsized from a real estate company, and sold super-cheap. The new one was won at a county fair.
Thanks for your help!
- Susan

For your first problem I don’t know what could have caused this other than Windows XP wouldn’t load up because it’s missing the modem. Sometimes that may happen it’s very rare but it happens.
For the second problem about the Excel and Word, the reason why it didn’t come with the other pc is because you need to have MS Office installed to get those programs and they weren’t installed so you did not have them. The only way to get it back is to purchase MS Office from Microsoft. I hope that helps!
