what is hard boot soft boot?

I'm running a 3 station Netware 1.1 network on ISA Ne2000 compliant cards which conflicts with an LS-120 drive which gives the LS-120 intermittent lockups on nightly data backups (6 MB zip files). Oddly, ls-120 will hang when backing up after warm-boot after network files closed but LS-120 works fine if used upon cold boot. I'm curious to know what the difference is between a cold boot and a warm boot that would seem to point to the source of the problem. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have to offer.

This question was answered on October 24, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
a soft boot is when you use the function keys control -alt-delete buttons to turn the comuter off
a hard boot is when you turn the computer off with the power button
you should make sure that you have all the device drivers and all the updated information for your application.
also you should uninstall and each application until you isolate the source of your problem
