having problems copying from one file to another?
Question
If I copy something from anywhere (web page, OE document, Textpad, notepad, etc) and THEN open word, paste is greyed out. I have to copy from anywhere while word is open or it will not paste. In addition, if I copy, open excel or Access, it will paste fine. If I close Excel and Access, and THEN open Word, paste is greyed out. If I open Excel or Access after opening word, paste is greyed out on all of them. This is all the case using either the mouse or keyboard (CTRL c, ctrl V)
If I copy something from anywhere, how do I make paste work in Word even if I open Word AFTER the copy.

This question was answered on December 15, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
this answer is simple.. the documents that are being copied may not be able to run in a word application. you would have to find out what kind of document it is before you can paste it into word.
