What is SYS.DAT?
Question
I can't get my computer to run since I deleted SYS.DAT. it will go to normal mode or safe mode but only a blank screen. I can see my prgram files and documents when it searches for a driver for the disc drive but it can't find that either. Please let me know if you can help.

Your profile shows you are running Windows ME. The SYS.DAT file is a necessary file for the operating system to run. My best suggestion is to reload your Windows ME.
