How do I load printer software if my CD does not work?

My cd will not play. I need to load new software for a new printer and I can't get it to run.

This question was answered on October 25, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
Most printer manufactures will have the drives you need to load on their website so you can download it right onto your computer. You will want to check the literature that came with your printer and see if they mention a website. You can also search for the company on the internet. As an example if your printer is manufactured by Hewlett Packard you can go onto www.google.com and enter in Hewlett Packard and you will find the manufactures website is: www.hp.com. You can visit their website and do a search on printer drivers. You will then need to look for your model printer and download the driver to your computer.
