How do I transfer data from a computer using Windows 95 to another computer using Windows XP?

Question

How do you transfer data (documents, personal files, etc) from an old computer to a new computer using windows 95 (old computer). The new computer will have windows xp professional. Need to know best way to do it and do not have a home net work. I will be getting rid of one computer and setting up the new one.

This question was answered on November 21, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

You can load your files on a storage device such as: diskette, zip drive, CD or USB flash drive. This will depend on which storage device you have at your disposal and is compatible with both computers. Once you save your date on the appropriate storage device they can be loaded onto the new computer.
