How do I remove spilled coffee from my laptop?

I spilled coffie on the keyboard and now it tries to power up but shuts itself off before it can. anything I can do?

This question was answered on December 6, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
The bad news is you are going to have to replace your laptop, because things like coffee, soda, and beer will corrode parts. Coffee does not dry completely.
