This question was answered on June 15, 1999. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

In some cases the video acceleration may be causing freezing problems with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.0 To see if this is the problem with your system try this: First, right click on your desktop, then click on "Properties." Next click on the Settings tab, then click on "Advanced Properties." Click on the Perfomance tab, then slide the slider on "Hardware Acceleration" to "None" This will slow down video performance in some applications, so you may have to choose between the lesser of two evils! If you freezing problem goes away when set to "none"try contacting the manufacturer of your video card to see if any information or updated video drivers exsist to fix the problem!
