Why is it people can not connect to me for mutli player games?

Hi ,
Sir i tried every thing i could But When i Host any Multiplayer game No one can connect me , I had XP with sp2 Before which i reformated and did it with Sp1 thinking sp2 might b creating problem . But still no one can connect me even with firewall turned off . im really curiouse whats the reason . kindly look forward to it I'll appretiate any effort made !

This question was answered on May 21, 2007. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
I have had this exact same problem and I will try and explain it to you the best I can. This is almost always an issue with the ports that the mutiplayer game uses and the solution is that you need to open these ports in your router configuration. The way you do this depends on your router but once you open these ports for example Blizzard uses port 6884 for Warcraft 3 and once I opened this port on my router I could host games online from there on.
