Partitioned Hard Drive?
Question
I have a 40GB hard drive. At the time that I purchased the laptop I was unaware the it was partitioned. My C drive has apx 20GB that has about 17GB used. The D drive is empty. Many of my programs run slow now. I checked how many processes I have running when I turn the laptop on and it was 41. I have no need to have the hard drive partitioned. How can I remove it?

The simple answer is the only way to unpartition a partitioned hard drive is re-format the entire drive. However all is not lost. There are 3rd party programs such as Partition Magic which may allow you to combine drives without formatting. Also you can always to try to uninstall some programs you have the Cd's for and reinstall them on the D: drive.
