Do emails deleted in my internet browser stay somewhere on my hard drive?

Question

Cloak & dagger Question .... when I delete unwanted messages from my Netscape e-mail trash folder, they are erased. I understand that even though they no longer appear in any e-mail Netscape folder, they are still resident "somewhere" on my hard disk. If this is so, how do I get rid of them so that no one can read them in the future?

You are correct. Often users delete files of various sorts and believe that they are gone, but that is not the case! Most email programs retain these trashed email items in a folder called roughly deleted items. To find this folder go to start/find/then enter *delete*, this should bring maybe a few deleted items folders. First and foremost double click on each folder checking the contents, once you ARE SURE that this is the folder you want deleted drag it to the recycle bin and empty the trash.
