Why am I receiving a DOS window labeled SMC at startup?

I recently installed the AVG Free edition anti-virus tool two weeks ago. Three days ago I started getting a DOS window labled SMC at startup EVERY TIME. It automatically opens a window that shows my computer desktop directory. What do I do now??

Hey there,
I am not sure that this is related to AVG free edition in any way, I have been using this anti-virus program now for a long time and have never run into this problem. You can check your startup folder to make sure this isn't located there, or you can also check the AVG boards to see if anyone else is having this issue. Good Luck!!
