Can I network my Compaq laptop to my Gateway?

I have a 300mhz Gateway computer using Cox Cable modem. Can I network My Compaq lte5100 laptop which is a 90mhz running win98 to it? My laptop has a docking port which has a built in eathernet card.

Hi! Have you tried it? It would seem you have the appropriate components for networking the two.
