what is wrong with my hard drive
Question
When i start up my computer it says cannot read Drive C. What should i do?

This question was answered on January 31, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
You must troubleshoot your hard drive file system, check CMOs setup to confirm that bios recognizes the drive and that CMOS settings are correct for the hard drive > bott from a floppy disk and run FDISK, from the FDISK menu display the partition information > if FDISK says the parttition table is missing or corrupted, then restore the master boot record program with the command FDISK/MBR and try to reboot from the hard drive again. If this command solves the problem, then immediately run a current version of an antivirus software to check for a virus, if the problem is not a virus the sectors on the hard drive are fading, you will have to replace this hard drive
