why is my hard drive having a problem

my laptop is showing a message that says Not ready reading drive C Aboru? Retry? Ignore, Fail? Is my hard drive shot. If so, is it fixable?

This question was answered on April 25, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
it sounds to be that you may have some type of error with your hard drive. you may want to reboot your computer from the a drive or d drive. Go to the setup screen and change the boot sequence
