why my laptop won't start.
Question
My roommate has a Compaq 2700. When powered on, the Compaq logo comes up followed by a black screen and a blinking cursor at top left. There are 3 start up discs. Tried them to no avail. Same thing. We live in Honduras and have limited help resources. Is there a series of key strokes to get windows up and running? Is it hardware? No warranty anymore.

when you turn it on and it starts to load press F10 or delete to go into the system set up and check if anything changed in there.
