why my laptop dont start?

I cant get my laptop to start. It all started when I tried to attach mouse cord at its back socket and it crashed i.e. the screen got blurred and finally got switched off itself. After that I tried to start it but it only flashes three lights i.e. A, 1 and downwards pointing arrow and nothing shows up on the screen. The battery is fully charged up and i tried it with power cord as well but it still doesnt go.It is compaq 1510 armada(series 2920) with windows 95 and without cd-drive. It has a modem and floppy drive.

you should check if anything may burned out when you try to attach the mouse are take it to a license technician.
