Geek Speak of the Week

Data Throttling: The deliberate regulation of the data transfer rate in a communications system. Data throttling can be used in any scenario where it is necessary or desirable to limit the amount of data that can be sent or received per unit time. AT&T, Verizon and Sprint all are doing this to unlimited data customers that are in the top 5% of usage on their networks. Sprint is the only network that does not use any form of data throttling (for the moment).
